Janice Gercken brings a rare blend of life experience, professional leadership, and compassionate insight to her work as a Therapeutic Coach™. She supports clients navigating stress, grief, life transitions, and emotional overwhelm — helping them move toward greater regulation, clarity, and a more balanced way of living.
Her approach is grounded in the belief that true wellbeing integrates emotional, mental, and physical health — and that meaningful change is possible at any stage of life.
From a young age, Janice charted her own course in life and business. At just eighteen, she became Canada’s youngest Customs Inspector, earning her Customs Brokerage License by the age of twenty-two. She later founded her own brokerage firm and went on to hold senior leadership roles with a leading international air courier and cargo company, managing operations across Asia and Western Canada. These years cultivated discipline, resilience, and a deep understanding of responsibility and leadership under pressure.
In the 1990s, responding to a personal calling, Janice transitioned into healthcare and the emerging field of medical aesthetics. She organized professional seminars and conventions, operated advanced medical laser technologies, and managed a thriving medical practice. Across these varied roles, her interest increasingly turned toward human motivation, emotional resilience, and the processes that support lasting change.
Janice’s most profound learning, however, came through lived experience. She was married to her husband Frank for thirty-seven years. Following his death in 2017 from a work-related illness, Janice entered a deep period of grief and personal transformation. Through therapy, mindfulness, and spiritual exploration, she discovered Therapeutic Coaching™ as a powerful modality that integrates emotional understanding with forward-focused growth.
Today, Janice works with clients seeking support through loss, stress, and major life transitions. Her coaching integrates mindfulness, self-inquiry, emotional regulation, and nervous-system awareness, offered within a compassionate, grounded, and non-judgmental space. She believes healing is not about striving for perfection, but about cultivating balance — learning to move at a steady pace, meet oneself with kindness, and reconnect with moments of joy even amid change.
Alongside her formal training with the Alex Howard Group, Janice continues to explore the intersection of psychology, neuroscience, and consciousness. She is currently expanding her studies in empathogenic and combination therapies as part of her commitment to integrative and evolving approaches to healing.
Janice’s own life reflects the transformation she now supports in others — from high performance to presence, from loss to love, and from striving to deeper self-awareness. Her work is especially suited to those seeking clarity, emotional steadiness, and a more conscious relationship with themselves and their lives.
“It’s not what’s happened to you, it’s what you do with it.”
